The Tree measurement manual for farm foresters describes how to measure trees and estimate the volume of 'standing wood' in a plantation.
The manual is an introduction to plantation forest measurement for users such as farm forest growers, field officers advising growers and consultants. It requires no prior knowledge of forest measurement. The manual is clearly written, drawing on close consultation with farm forestry and inventory experts.
The manual, published by the former Bureau of Rural Sciences in 2003, remains relevant for use today. Users should note – contact details in the manual are not current. Please email enquiries to info.abares@aff.gov.au.
