Our role and functions are diverse.
We work to enhance our agricultural, fisheries and forestry industries. We create new and maintain existing agricultural export opportunities, to provide gains for Australian agriculture. We manage biosecurity risks to Australia to protect our multi-billion dollar agricultural industries and our way of life.

Our people
Our staff have many different roles. From biosecurity dog handlers to researchers and scientists, as well as regulators, program administrators, policy advisers and IT specialists and much more. We work all over Australia.
We also have staff based overseas. They maintain relationships with international organisations and our trading partners.
Our skills and expertise are as diverse as our portfolio and we are ready for any challenge. This ensures our advice and activities meet the needs of the community, industry, and other governments.
