We strive to create a safe place to work for all our LGBTIQA+ staff members by providing supportive programs, educating our allies, and nurturing an inclusive culture. The department’s Pride Network Action Plan sets out what needs to be done to promote inclusion for our LGBTIQA+ employees.
We are a member of Pride in Diversity and participate in the Australian Workplace Equality Index – the national benchmark for LGBTIQA+ workplace inclusion.
We work to ensure our culture is inclusive of LGBTIQA+ people and that any discrimination is addressed promptly through our support channels.
We prioritise education by running regular awareness training sessions and have a range of initiatives in place to support our LGBTIQA+ staff including gender affirmation guidelines, ally resources and an active LGBTIQA+ Pride Network.
