We recognise the value that colleagues from a CaLD background add to our work through their skills, experiences, and perspectives. A culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) workplace includes staff who:
- are from different countries
- have diverse cultural backgrounds
- can speak languages other than English (including First Nations languages and Auslan)
- follow different religions, traditions, values, and beliefs.
Our CaLD Action plan details specific actions we must take to achieve our goal of having a diverse, inclusive workforce that is free from bias, where all employees feel valued and safe.
CaLD Network
The CaLD network provides staff from CaLD backgrounds, and those interested in CaLD matters, an opportunity to discuss issues in the workplace. The network aims to create an inclusive environment in the department for culturally and linguistically diverse employees and community members. Membership of the network is open to all staff.
