The department must be notified of imported animal transport equipment through the submission of a Movement advice for animal transport equipment.
This includes:
- equipment transiting through Australia
- equipment accompanying the import of an animal
- empty equipment to be used domestically or for export of live animals.
This advice must be completed by the airline, agent/customs broker or the importer of the equipment and submitted to the department at the Australian destination port, prior to arrival of equipment in Australia.
