Food type
Crustaceans that are fresh, chilled or frozen, cooked, smoked or raw.
Exclusions
- Crustaceans imported with a government certificate declaring ‘wild caught’, ‘not from farmed or aquaculture sources’ or similar that is specific to that consignment.
- Food from New Zealand.
Inspection and testing
We refer consignments of crustaceans for antimicrobial residue testing at the rate of 5%. During inspection, we will also conduct a visual and label assessment.
Additional testing requirements apply to crustaceans and crustacean products that are cooked and ready-to-eat.
Table 1 shows the antimicrobial residue test that will be applied and permitted results for the food type.
