UK tariff-free quotas
World Trade Organization (WTO) tariff-rate quotas
The World Trade Organisation (WTO) has 10 tariff rate quotas for exports to the UK and EU. The Department provides management and administration of 10 tariff rate quotas under the Export Control (Tariff Rate Quota – General) Rules 2021 (the Rules) and the Export Control (Tariff Rate Quotas – Sheepmeat and Goatmeat Export to the European Union and United Kingdom) Rules 2021.
As a result of the UK leaving the EU (aka Brexit), the UK and EU 'split' existing agricultural WTO tariff-rate quotas between the UK and EU.
