Attention
Importers of food products, customs brokers and freight forwarders intending to book and manage requests for imported food inspections using the Biosecurity Portal.
Purpose
The department continues to improve its Biosecurity Portal support materials to assist stakeholders in using the Portal more effectively. An instructional video has been developed to provide guidance on how to book and manage inspections under the Imported Food Inspection Scheme.
Key points
A new instructional video has been published on the Biosecurity Portal to explain how to book and manage imported food consignments through this Portal.
Businesses involved in importing food should ensure they are aware of the process involved in booking inspections under the Imported Food Inspection Scheme.
Instructions
The video is located on the Biosecurity Portal web page at Webinar recordings.
Background
The Biosecurity Portal was developed by the department to provide online services to the importing industry. The Biosecurity Portal gives importers, and their agents, the ability to:
- request, modify and cancel import inspections
- view and print AIMS directions.
In response to feedback received, the Biosecurity Portal Support Team has developed an instructional video outlining how to lodge an imported food and/or failed food request for inspection using the Other User channel.
