Background
The Export Control Act 2020 and the Export Control Rules 2021 (the rules) came into effect in March 2021 as part of an initiative to strengthen Australia’s agricultural exports and market access.
On 18 December 2023, amendments were made to the Animals Rules. Refer to EAN 2023-26 for further information. Through continuous routine reviews of the rules, the department identified further necessary amendments to improve a range of export commodity rules, including to the Animals Rules and Miscellaneous Rules.
