Purpose
To advise the department’s arrangements for the Live Animal Exports general enquiries phone line over the Christmas period (23 December 2023 – 2 January 2024).
Key points
- Our Canberra offices and some regional offices will be closed for the holiday period from COB Friday, 22 December 2023, reopening on Tuesday morning, 2 January 2024.
- The Live Animal Exports general enquiries phone line (02 6272 4581) will not operate during this period.
- Exporters with urgent enquiries relating to a consignment departing during this period should contact the Regional Veterinary Officers in the first instance using the following contact numbers:

- All other enquiries including requests for a call back should be emailed to livestockexp@aff.gov.au. This mailbox will be monitored as normal outside of weekends and Public Holidays on 27‑30 December 2023.
- The department’s general inquiry line (1800 900 090) will also not operate during the following dates.

- Saturday 30/12/2023 - Monday 1/01/2024
