The department has published the final report from the review after considering all stakeholder feedback.
The final report is available on our website. On 20 October 2020 the department issued Biosecurity Advice 2020-A06 inviting comments on the second draft report from the review of biosecurity risks associated with importing cooked duck meat from Thailand.
Stakeholder feedback on the second draft report did not alter the overall outcome of the review, with the proposed measures to apply to cooked duck meat imports from Thailand the same as those proposed in the previous draft reports.
The department has now finalised the review. The final report from the review includes proposed import conditions that can be used to manage the biosecurity risks associated with the import of cooked duck meat from Thailand.
Before trade can commence, the department will undertake an assessment to verify Thailand’s ability to meet the proposed import conditions.
