Export manufacturing establishments producing infant formula

Purpose
To notify Australian infant formula manufacturers who are registered with China’s Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) that renewal of their registration is required four years from the initial approval date.
Summary of key points
All CNCA approvals issued to Australian infant formula manufacturers lapse four years after their initial approval date. Manufacturers are required to apply for renewal of their registration by submitting relevant documents one year before the expiry date.
The department has contacted manufacturers who are required to renew their listings.
Requirements for renewal of infant formula listing
Complete a renewal application
CNCA’s Announcement No 9 advises of the requirements to be met by infant formula manufacturers and the applications required are found at Attachment 1 and Attachment 2.
Application should be completed and returned to Dairy Eggs Fish for submission to China.
Establishments must complete:
- Attachment 1 PDF [104 KB, 2 pages]
- Attachment 1 DOCX [17 KB, 2 pages]
- Attachment 2 PDF [220 KB, 3 pages]
- Attachment 2 DOCX [25 KB, 3 pages]
- A response must be provided for questions 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7
- The department will provide the declaration required in question 2
- The department will contact the relevant state regulatory authority seeking information in answering questions 1 and 5.

Complete an online registration
An online registration must also be completed by accessing China’s website of registration for foreign manufacturers of imported food.
- A bilingual manual book for using the website can be found at Attachment 3 PDF [6 MB, 67 pages].
- Once you start an online registration application and complete the information required you will be provided with a sequence number.
- You must save your sequence number – it is used to log on to the system, continue your application
and view submitted information. - There are nine sections of the online registration that you will need to complete, if you exit the application before it is complete, ensure that you click the ‘save & exit’ button.
- After clicking ‘submit’, the registration application will be submitted to us.
- Once your registration application has been submitted you will not be able to make any changes. If you do need to make a change please contact us via our mailbox (see below).
