Weed assessment of new plant imports

​Before new plant species are allowed into Australia, they must be assessed for their potential to become weeds.

The plants are evaluated using the weed risk assessment (WRA) process. This three-tiered process includes a question-based system to calculate the possibility of the plant becoming a weed.
