As an exporter, you need to ensure that the goods you are exporting are eligible for export. For shellfish, the department approves shellfish harvest areas for export. This means that shellfish must come from export approved shellfish harvest areas. You need to ensure the shellfish is then further prepared (this includes storage, packing and processing) at a registered establishment to be eligible for export.
