Effective date for levy returns
This notice applies to rice returns for transactions from 1 January 2023 and applies to half-yearly returns due 28 July 2023 and onwards.

This notice is issued in accordance with subregulation 10(4A) of the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection Regulations 1991 (PILCC Regulations) to inform you that a register of levy payers is being kept for rice by AgriFutures Australia.
AgriFutures is an eligible recipient of levy payer information under subsection 27A(2) of the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection Act 1991.
All levy returns for rice transactions from 1 January 2023 onwards must include levy payer information in addition to information required under Schedule 32 of the PILCC Regs.
Under subregulation 10(4B) of the PILCC Regs levy payer information means:
- the name, address, contact details (phone number and/or email address), ABN (if any) and ACN (if any) of each person (levy payer) who has paid, or is liable to pay, a levy or charge for the affected collection product for the period that the return relates to
- the amount of levy or charge each levy payer has paid, or is liable to pay, for the product for that period.
