From 1 July 2018, the marketing component of the mushrooms levy, currently set at $3.24 per kilogram of mushroom spawn sold, will decrease to $2.92 per kilogram of mushroom spawn sold.
The mushroom levy rate was doubled in 2014, principally to fund market research activities. The reduction to the marketing levy is the result of the review proposed by the Australian Mushroom Growers’ Association (AMGA) in 2016.
Changes to the mushrooms levy rates are shown in the table below:
