From 1 January 2025, the levy and charge on custard apples harvested in Australia and sold (not by retail sale or for processing) or exported will change. The change will increase the research and development levy and reduce the marketing levy.
The total levy and charge rates for custard apples sold or exported will remain the same.

GST does not apply to Australian Government levies and charges.
The objective of this change is to focus industry investment on research and development at the request of Custard Apples Australia Inc to better reflect grower needs.
