Function
The Companion Animal Transport Industry Consultative Committee (CATICC) is the principle forum or the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry to engage with industry on companion animal regulatory matters related to the import, export and quarantine of dogs and cats.
Aim
To facilitate effective communication and partnerships between the department and industry stakeholders in order to:
- Ensure effective regulatory outcomes are achieved without unnecessary or inefficient regulation.
- Promote the coordination of departmental and industry activities to facilitate the efficient and safe import and export of dogs and cats.
- Identify and seek to address any issues that arise and that may affect imports and exports of dogs and cats.
Scope
The committee will provide a forum for the department to engage with industry stakeholders to discuss the effective and efficient implementation of biosecurity policy and regulation.
Among other things, the committee will discuss:
- Technical, operational, policy and strategic issues related to dog and cat imports, exports, biosecurity and market access.
- Efficient and effective cost recovery arrangements and all related issues.
