25 May 2021
Who does this notice affect?
Biosecurity industry participants and accredited persons operating under the department’s Class 19.1 non-commodity for containerised cargo clearance (NCCC) & Class 19.2 automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM) approved arrangements; Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) providers and registered training organisations (RTOs).
What has changed?
As outlined in Industry Advice Notice 95-2021, the second part of the khapra beetle Phase 6A measures will commence on 12 July 2021. These measures will introduce mandatory offshore treatment requirements for FCL/FCX sea containers that are packed in a khapra beetle target risk country and will be unpacked in a rural grain growing area of Australia. These measures are being incorporated into the Non-commodity information requirements policy and the Non-commodity BICON case and will impact the Class 19.1 NCCC approved arrangement.
To help Class 19.1 NCCC accredited persons understand these changes, we have scheduled a CBC activity (live webinar) on Thursday 10 June 2021 at 10:00am AEST. NCCC accredited persons are encouraged to register in advance.
For those who cannot attend the live webinar, a recording will be made available on the department’s CBC activities webpage once the live webinar has concluded.
To maintain Class 19.1 NCCC accreditation, accredited persons must view the webinar and complete an assessment as part of the CBC activity by Monday 5 July 2021. Failure to complete the activity may result in suspension of your accreditation.
We will continue to provide regular updates through Industry Advice Notices leading up to these changes.
