Purpose
This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to notify industry of updates to both paper and electronic phytosanitary certificates.
Summary of changes and key points
From October 2024, our ePhyto solution will be updated. The update will allow for:
- the ePhyto solution to be rolled out to further trading partners, and
- paper certification and ePhytos to be harmonised.
From October 2024 all phytosanitary certificates will include 3 new fields:
- Product Part - describes the part of the product such as wood, grain, plants, fruits.
- Product Condition - describes the condition of the product such as sawn, with bark, fresh, dried.
- Intended Use - describes the use of the product such as processing, consumption, stockfeed, planting.
To accommodate the new fields, there will be small changes to the appearance of paper phytosanitary certificates.
Following the update, we will begin exchanging ePhytos with additional trading partners across the globe.
