Purpose
This Market Access Advice (MAA) provides guidance to exporters utilising the HVT1 certificate with endorsement 9002, to export honey and edible apiculture products to Vietnam.
It is designed to provide additional clarity as to the identity of the producer/ processor/ manufacturer of the honey and edible apiculture product. Confusion regarding the identity of the processor/ producer/ manufacturer has resulted in delayed clearance of consignments of honey in Vietnam.
On the HVT1 certificate, the processor/ producer/ manufacturer name can be populated into the certificate, via a free text Manufacturer name field within the Production processes tab of the NEXDOC Portal.
Exporters are advised to write out in full ‘PROCESSED AT [NAME OF MANUFACTURER]’ in the ‘Manufacturer name field’ – as opposed to just typing in the name of the manufacturer.
This will result in the certificate reading under the description of goods heading, for example:
‘MANUKA HONEY
PROCESSED AT SMITH’S HONEY’
As opposed to:
‘MANUKA HONEY
SMITH’S HONEY’
This should help avoid additional honey consignments being detained in Vietnam.
The HVT1 certificate has been used for honey exports to Vietnam since March 2024. For details, please see MAA 2024-01.
