Purpose
To provide updated information on China’s import testing of cold chain product for COVID-19 and the actions resulting from positive detections.

To provide updated information on China’s removal of COVID-19 testing for ALL imported products (including cold-chain products).
Summary of key points
- This Market Access Advice (MAA) informs that China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC) has released Announcement No. 131 of 2022 to advise it will be removing COVID-19 testing for ALL imported products (including cold-chain products) from 8 January 2023.
- The department is working with officials to determine what this means for any Australian establishments currently suspended due to COVID-19.
- The department encourages all exporters to work with their importer to ensure that product meets the current importing country requirements.
