The Declaration and Certificate as to Condition is issued for the certification of non-prescribed goods being exported from Australia to satisfy the following conditions:
- the importing country requirements for the goods
- any matters to be specified on the certificate concerning goods of that kind that are to be exported.
There are three templates for the Declaration and Certificate as to Condition. To determine which template is required, please see below.
The Declaration and Certificate as to Condition EX188
- Use for non-prescribed goods requiring an origin statement
- The certificate includes a hardcoded attestation declaring the product ‘is of Australian origin’ and ‘acceptable for sale in Australia’.
The Declaration and Certificate as to Condition EX188B
- Use for non-prescribed goods requiring a certificate but no origin statement
- Australian products and imported products processed in Australia
- The certificate includes a hardcoded attestation declaring the product ‘acceptable for sale in Australia’.
The Declaration and Certificate as to Condition EX188M
- Use for non-prescribed goods containing animal ingredients requiring a veterinarian signature
- Australian products and imported products processed in Australia
- The certificate includes a hard coded attestation declaring ‘foot-and-mouth disease and rinderpest do not exist in Australia’.
See the Manual of Importing Country Requirements to determine which template of the ‘Declaration and Certificate as to Condition’ is required for your product. Some non-prescribed goods also require an additional endorsement or statement be printed on the Declaration and Certificate as to Condition (e.g. ‘fit for human consumption’).
A different certificate template may be required for some products and/or destinations. Please contact your regional office if you would like to confirm which certificate template is applicable to your product. If you are ready to apply for your certification, please complete and submit an application form.
