Purpose
To remind dairy exporters to present original export certificates for clearance at overseas borders, particularly Korea.
Summary of key points
Presenting original export certificates for dairy.
- Korean authorities have advised that exporters are presenting photocopies and electronic versions of department issued certificates for dairy.
- Exporters are reminded that Korean authorities require the original export certificate to be presented to facilitate clearance. Photocopies or electronic versions of original export certificate must not be provided. For other markets, overseas countries reserve the right to request original government certificates for clearance of goods.
- Original NEXDOC certificates must show gridlines or check patterns after the last product line. Certificates that do not have gridlines or check patterns may not be accepted by overseas border officials.
- The department will not facilitate the release of detained consignments resulting from non-compliance with this advice.
Printer requirements
- Exporters are required to use a Duplex laser printer with minimum 600 DPI to print their original certificate. This will ensure gridlines or check patterns are present on the original export certificate.
- Exporters and their agents are obliged to abide by the Terms and Conditions when applying for access to remote print capabilities.

- This advice does not apply to countries including Japan, New Zealand, and the Philippines, who receive certificates through electronic certification (eCert), which is paperless exchange.
