Purpose
To remind exporters that the original dairy Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) System certificate must be provided for clearance at overseas borders.
Summary of key points
- Exporters are reminded that they must only provide the original NEXDOC certificate at overseas borders to facilitate the clearance of their shipments. Do not provide scanned or photocopied versions as many trading countries require the original document.
- Exporters and their agents are obliged to abide by the Terms and Conditions when applying for gaining access to remote print capabilities. Terms and Conditions include, but are not limited to, requirements for certificates to be printed within Australia and only one set of export documents to be printed for each consignment.
- Failure to present original certificates to overseas border officials may result in detained consignments.
- The department may not be able to facilitate the release of detained consignments resulting from non-compliance with this advice.

- This advice does not apply to Japan, New Zealand and the Philippines as these countries trade dairy and dairy products on a paperless exchange where electronic certificates are sent via E-Cert arrangements.
