Who does this notice affect?
Importers and brokers of stone fruit and cherries from the United States.
What has changed?
From the 23rd of June 2019, the department is transitioning stone fruit and cherries from the United States of America from the Compliance-Based Inspection Scheme (CBIS) dashboard to the CBIS Q-ruler to achieve full system automation.
In order to support this change you will now be required to lodge consignments with one of the following AQIS Commodity Codes (ACC):
- US stone fruit consignments that are subject to on-arrival inspection must use the ACC code: USSF
- US cherry consignments that are subject to inspection on arrival must use the ACC code: USCH
- US stone fruit and cherry consignments that have been imported under the Offshore Pre-shipment Inspection (OPI) program must use the ACC code: OPIN
Please note that for consignments eligible for the CBIS, the number of consecutive compliant consignments required to qualify for monitoring mode or risk-based intervention, will remain unchanged.
