23 March 2018
Who does this notice affect?
All importers and customs brokers who are required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment.
What’s changed?
The Cargo Online Lodgement System will be upgraded on Sunday 25th March 2018 (AEDT). This upgrade will include more ways to pay for your lodgement.
If you do not have an account number issued by the department you will be required to make an upfront payment when lodging your import documentation for assessment. This payment can be made either through your third-party cargo logistics software or at the time of document lodgement in COLS.
If you wish to utilise your third-party cargo logistics software to make a payment please ensure this has been completed prior to you lodging documentation in COLS. At the time of document lodgement COLS will verify the payment status and prompt you for an online payment if the balance shows as below $30.
Department of Agriculture and Water Resources account clients will still be able to lodge document in COLS using their account information.
A task card explaining the payment process will be available to clients from Monday 26th March via the COLS page on our website.
