20 March 2018
Who does this notice affect?
All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned outage.
Information
The Cargo Online Lodgement System will be unavailable for 24 hours starting 14:00 Saturday 24th March to 14:00 Sunday 25th March 2018 (AEDT).
COLS will be upgraded during this outage. The upgrade will enable COLS to re-use information from import declarations, which means:
- less data entry before lodging documents
- consignments will be prioritised automatically
New features include:
- view previously lodged documents
- request reassessment
- improved 'check status' results
- integration with online payment service
- outage notifications on COLS front page
On our side, better reporting and allocation tools will help us process assessments efficiently.
Online tutorials and user guides will be available to clients from Monday 26th March via the COLS page on our website. This is to assist clients in understanding how the changes have impacted the way they interact with COLS.
Clients will not be able to lodge import cargo documents during the outage. Where possible, we recommend lodging after the outage to take advantage of the new lodgement process.
