Who does this notice affect?
Brokers, importers and biosecurity industry participants operating under the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources Class 19.2 Approved Arrangement: Automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM)
What has changed?
Effective 18 October 2018, the Biosecurity Import Conditions for new oversize tyres exported or manufactured from Japan have changed. Refer to industry notice - 148-2018 – Immediate measures to control biosecurity risk in consignments of new oversize tyres imported from Japan.
Due to these changes, new oversized tyres ex Japan have been removed from the Class 19.2 AEPCOMM Approved Arrangement. Associated AEP codes will not be available in the relevant BICON pathways and all oversized tyres ex Japan will be deemed out of scope of the arrangement.
The documentation assessment requirements and offshore treatment effectiveness will be investigated over the coming months to determine the eligibility to re-introduce these goods to AEPCOMM in subsequent commodity expansion activities.
