Purpose
The purpose of this Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise industry that the suspension has been lifted on the export of Australian rockmelons and honeydew melons that have been treated with dimethoate to New Zealand.
Summary of changes and key points
- The New Zealand National Plant Protection Organisation has advised that they will be accepting dimethoate dipped rockmelons and honeydew melons from Australia effective immediately.
- MICoR cases for rockmelons and honeydew melons have been updated.
- EXDOC endorsement 1646 for rockmelons and EXDOC endorsement 3576 for honeydew melons have been reinstated.
Background
On 12 April 2017, New Zealand suspended the import of Australian rockmelons and honeydew melons that had been treated with dimethoate. Please see IAN 2017-12 for more information.
