Purpose
To remind stakeholders that the charging of the Plant Exports Additional inspection fee will commence on 1 July 2016.
Background
The redesigned fees and levies for Plant Exports came into effect on 1 December 2015. Details including cost recovery implementation statements, charging guidelines and fact sheets are available on the department’s website at Fees.
The Plant Exports Additional inspection fee was introduced as part of the redesigned fees and levies. The fee applies where a departmental officer is used to complete an inspection where that inspection is covered by a job function available to industry authorised officers.
A list of those job functions available to industry authorised officers can be found on the department’s website at Table of authorised officer job functions.
The Additional inspection fee is $75.00 per 15 minutes (or part thereof) and will be charged instead of the standard inspection fee of $36 per 15 minutes (or part thereof).
The Additional inspection fee applies regardless of whether an industry authorised officer is available at a given time or in a given location.
