11 June 2013
Purpose
To inform plant export stakeholders that on June 30 2013, all AQIS URLs on the DAFF website (e.g. http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis) will be retired and the word AQIS will be replaced with “biosecurity” (e.g. http://www.daff.gov.au/biosecurity).
Issue
As part of DAFF’s corporate identity and rebranding, web pages with non-biosecurity addresses (e.g. http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis) will be transitioned to DAFF biosecurity URLs. These changes will be implemented progressively between now and June 30 2013.
The Exporting Plant and Plant Products URL, formerly http://daff.gov.au/aqis/export/plants-plant-products will become http://daff.gov.au/biosecurity/export/plants-plant-products.
After June 30 2013, pages featuring the word AQIS will not load and an error message will appear on the screen. You will therefore need to recreate any shortcuts to the new addresses in your internet browser and update any DAFF documents that you have saved.
Background
A range of changes to the DAFF brand and corporate identity were released in November 2011, along with our new vision and strategic statement. These changes reflect our department’s new priorities and shifting focus and give DAFF a stronger public face, unified identity and a stronger sense of direction and purpose.
DAFF has moved its focus from quarantine at the border to managing biosecurity risk across the continuum – offshore, at the border and onshore. The DAFF identity (rather than AQIS) better represents this shift to a broader biosecurity focus.
