Purpose
To advise exporters that AQIS has received notification concerning a decree from the Director General for Agricultural Quarantine, Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, that import requirements for plant propagation material and plant products to Indonesia have changed, effective immediately.
Issues
The Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture advised in SPS notification G/SPS/N/IDN/20 that:
- Importation into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia of 'plant propagating materials' are subject to the following conditions:
a) All consignments must be accompanied by a Phytosanitary certificate issued by the country of origin and the country of transit where applicable, and
b) Entry into Indonesia via designated points of entry only, and
c) Indonesian Plant Quarantine Inspectors must be notified about the arrival of the consignment for plant quarantine purposes, and
d) An Import Permit issued from the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture or an appointed authority must accompany all consignments.
Consignments not meeting all import conditions will be rejected.

Exporter compliance
The PHYTO database (PHYTO database) has been updated incorporating the new Indonesian import requirements.
Exporters are advised that AQIS will now require phytosanitary documentation for all shipments in accordance with all Indonesian importing country requirements as listed on PHYTO.
