Shipments en-route to Russia
The Department of Agriculture (the department) continues to seek clarification regarding entry of products listed in the Russian Presidential Decree which is currently en-route to Russia. However, the department understands that some countries have informally reported that products shipped prior to the decree announcement are being rejected on arrival in Russia.
Exporters wishing to divert shipments are reminded that the department will facilitate re-certification for alternate markets and import permits for product returning to Australia.
- To discuss re-certification arrangements, exporters should contact Food Export Documentation
- To discuss ‘return to Australia’ arrangements, exporters should contact Biologicals. If exporters do intend or may wish to return product to Australia we would advise, where possible, they keep container seals intact.
Export certification
The department confirms that export certification is still being issued for products which are not listed in the decree. However, exporters of products not currently included on the list are reminded to exercise caution and liaise with their importers to assess whether consignments will be permitted entry on arrival to Russia.
The department will keep exporters updated of any relevant developments.
