Frozen/Chilled Uneviscerated Fishery Products
Following advice from Taiwan’s Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine that current export certification issued by AQIS for frozen/chilled uneviscerated fishery products is not acceptable, the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) is currently negotiating export health certification for these fishery products exported from Australia to Taiwan.
Until AQIS is able to negotiate new certification arrangements, exporters are advised that shipments of these products to Taiwan are likely to be at risk.
As there is currently only one certificate for all seafood exports to Taiwan and there is no direct mechanism to suspend certification through EXDOC for uneviscerated product, certification will still be issued if requested. However exporters ship uneviscerated product at their own risk and AQIS will be unable to facilitate the release of detained consignments.
