Who does this notice affect?
Stakeholders associated with the biosecurity clearance of goods imported into Australia and which are subject to biosecurity intervention at an approved arrangement site. Primarily Class 1.1 and 1.3 approved arrangement managers and accredited persons.
What has changed?
A Have Your Say consultation is commencing with biosecurity industry participants to determine if there will be any impacts with the proposed implementation of revised conditions to existing class 1.1 and 1.3 approved arrangements.
The Approved Arrangement Program’s (AAP) review of the Class 1.1 Sea and Air Freight Depot (unrestricted) and class 1.3 Sea and Air Freight Depot (restricted) conditions, aims to further address existing and emerging biosecurity risk that can be carried via sea and air containers, their cargoes and associated packaging.
The department will use your feedback to identify, explore and address any operational feasibility and compliance issues relating to the draft class 1.1 and 1.3 conditions.
The Have Your Say will be open for consultation from 22 April 2024 to 5pm on Monday 17 June 2024.
