Who does this notice affect?
Importers, biosecurity industry participants and accredited persons operating under the department’s class 19 approved arrangements, freight forwarders and other industry participants who arrange documentation for imported goods.
What has changed?
On 27 March 2024 the department released Import industry advice notice 56-2024 inviting stakeholders to participate in industry focus groups to share experiences on key areas of the Minimum documentary and import declaration requirements policy that require clarification with the aim to improve regulatory outcomes.
Demand for these focus groups has exceeded the available places. We are making a further session available on:
Tuesday 9 April 10:30AM AEST
To secure your place in one of the sessions, visit Eventbrite:

Participants considering attending are reminded that:
- We are not conducting a full review of the policy at this stage. These sessions will focus on certain aspects of the policy with the scheduled review of the policy to commence in the 2024/25 financial year
- The sessions will be held virtually in an individual face-to-screen format
- An interactive survey tool will be used to enable participants to share their experiences
- Numbers are capped to enable active participation by all attendees
- To allow diverse participation we request that attendance is limited to 1 or 2 representatives from each organisation across all sessions
- Your registration will be confirmed via Eventbrite. The department will send an invitation containing a link to join your nominated session closer to the event
If you register for a session and are subsequently unable to attend, please contact entrymanagement@aff.gov.au so your place can be offered to someone on the waitlist.
