Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries – including Biosecurity Industry Participants, master consolidators, vessel masters, freight forwarders, importers, customs brokers and principle shipping agents – associated with the transport or importation of chemical or mined (inorganic) fertiliser.
What has changed?
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is undertaking external consultation in relation to proposed changes to its Imported Inorganic Fertiliser Management policies.
We have extended the Have Your Say consultation process, which will remain open until Thursday 28 March 2024. (inclusive).
On 13 February 2024, the department presented an information session that outlined the imported inorganic fertiliser management review policy to industry stakeholders. A copy of the presentation slides, written response to questions raised, and the recording will be available to view on the Have Your Say website.
The extension is to ensure stakeholders get the opportunity to access the presentation slides and the recording of the information session and consider the responses of the questions raised within the session. Stakeholders are then afforded the opportunity to provide a response regarding the additional information.
The draft policy and associated supporting documentation, including a summary of changes document is available for comment via a ‘Have Your Say’ consultation platform, available at: Review of Inorganic Fertiliser Assessment and Management Policy | Have Your Say - Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry
