Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries — including importers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, vessel masters, biosecurity industry participants and shipping agents.
What has changed?
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) is proposing changes to fees and charges for biosecurity regulatory activity in 2023-24.
A public engagement process commenced on 27 March 2023 with the release of a consultation paper setting out the current cost to deliver regulatory activities, the department’s cost calculation methodology and the reasons for proposed changes to fees and charges for biosecurity activities.
We are engaging with stakeholders through industry consultative committees, and for interested parties not represented by ICCs we are providing opportunity to engage with us through the following online forum.
The forum will be held between 1.30 -2.30 pm, 13 April 2023, (AEST).
To secure your place e-mail us at: bioCRIS@aff.gov.au.
Places are limited and registration closes 5 pm, 11 April 2023, (AEST).
A second forum may be offered depending on the level of interest received.
Industry participants and interested parties affected by these changes are also invited to review the consultation paper and make a submission on the department’s ‘Have Your Say’ platform by 5 pm (AEDT) 24 April 2023.
