30 January, 2023
Who does this notice affect?
Biosecurity industry participants and accredited persons operating under the department’s approved arrangement class 19.1 non commodity for containerised cargo clearance (NCCC) and approved arrangement class 19.2 automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM).
What has changed?
Effective 30 January 2023, the $18 approved arrangement fee will no longer be applied to entries referred for AEP verification. These entries will only be subject to the standard document assessment fee ($30 fee per 15 mins).
It is anticipated that this change will make the class 19 approved arrangement a more appealing and viable option to industry, as well as creating document assessment efficiencies and reducing strain on departmental resources.
There is no change to the fee structure for entries subject to NCCC verifications.
Participants who operate a single approved arrangement under the Automatic Entry Processing (AEP) scheme will still be subject to:
- an annual registration charge of $500; and
- an $18 approved arrangement fee for each entry that processes directly via AEP.
The department’s charging guidelines will be updated in due course detailing the revised AEP fee structure.
