Who does this notice affect?
The yachting industry, vessel operators, shipping agents, first point of entry (FPOE) operators and others.
What has changed?
The Port of Sydney FPOE determination has been amended to designate ‘Department of Home Affairs Jetty, Neutral Bay’ as an additional Biosecurity Entry Point (BEP) for non-commercial vessels, non-commercial vessel baggage and non-commercial vessel waste. These classes of vessels and goods are now permitted to arrive at this location.
It is the obligation of the person in charge of a vessel to ensure that the vessel complies with the relevant FPOE determinations. Operators and other stakeholders should consult the relevant FPOE determinations on the Federal Register of Legislation to ensure that their proposed vessel or goods movements are compliant with the determinations’ permissions and BEP.
Lists of FPOE and links to determinations are available on the department’s webpage First points of entry – information for arriving vessels and goods.
