Who does this notice affect?
Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries—including vessel masters, freight forwarders, Master Consolidators, treatment providers, Biosecurity Industry Participants, importers, customs brokers, and principal agents— associated with importing goods that require increased intervention during the BMSB risk season.
What has changed?
The department is delivering three industry information sessions covering the upcoming BMSB seasonal measures.
BMSB measures will apply to certain goods shipped to Australia as sea cargo between 1 September and 30 April inclusive.
Two sessions will provide information on BMSB seasonal measures for goods being imported, shipped, or treated during the BMSB risk season.
One session will be targeted to Master Consolidators responsible for lodging declarations for LCL/FAK containers subject to BMSB seasonal pest holds.
