Who does this notice affect?
All importers and customs brokers who currently lodge imported cargo documentation via the COLS API interface. Cargo logistics software providers who have developed integrations with the COLS API interfaces
What is the Enhancement?
An additional “Switch AEP” API will be available from 23 June to request assessments on previous AEPCOMM/NCCC (AEP) entries that were lodged with the department.
The system will provide an email notification and PDF to differentiate between AEP entries and documentation lodgements for manual assessment by the department.
What has changed?
From Friday 23 June 2023, the COLS API will be able to validate a genuine AEP entry. The system will then be able to use the information and documentation provided with the original AEP entry to create an assessment task.
The submission date of the new Switch AEP API will become the lodgement date of the manual assessment.
Visit our Automatic-Entry-Processing webpage for further information regarding AEP scheme. Further information will be provided by the department on the adoption of this capability within the current AEP scheme.
