Who does this notice affect?
Biosecurity industry participants, including vessel owners, operators, shipping agents and importers involved in the importation process of inorganic fertiliser originating from the manufacturer, Yantai Shengyuan Hengfeng Agricultural Technology Development Co Ltd.
What has changed?
As of 19 May 2022, the department revoked the Level 1 ‘low risk’ registration status of the inorganic fertiliser manufacturer, Yantai Shengyuan Hengfeng Agricultural Technology Development Co Ltd.
Accordingly, this manufacturer no longer holds a reduced risk classification with the department for imported inorganic fertiliser.
Affected consignments exported en route to Australia from 19 May 2022 (inclusive):
- Will be managed by the department in accordance with Level 3 high risk classification
Affected consignments exported en route to Australia before 19 May 2022:
- May be managed by the department in accordance with Level 1 low risk classification requirements
Note: All Level 1 importing conditions, as outlined on the Biosecurity Import Conditions database (BICON) and imported inorganic fertiliser policy, must also be met in order for consignments to be considered at this level.
