2 March 2020
Who does this notice affect?
All customs brokers and self-reporting importers.
What has changed?
The department has recently reviewed broker amendments to ship Lloyds’ registrations details for vessels on full import declarations and long form SAC lodgements. As these do not impact the biosecurity risk associated with a consignment, the amendment classification in the agriculture import management system (AIMS) has changed from a ‘major’ to ‘minor’ amendment category.
From 1 March 2020 amendments of this type no longer affect the status of the import declaration or any existing biosecurity directions that have been generated by an officer or automatic entry processing (AEP). Clients will no longer need to contact the department to process amendments of this nature.
