13 July 2020
Who does this notice affect?
Biosecurity industry participants and accredited persons operating under the department’s class 19.1 non-commodity for containerised cargo clearance (NCCC) & class 19.2 automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM) approved arrangements; continued biosecurity competency (CBC) providers and registered training organisations (RTOs).
What has changed?
From Friday 31 July 2020, the scope of AEPCOMM will be expanded to include new commodities. The Automatic entry processing reform and Training and accreditation for approved arrangements webpages have been updated to provide you with detailed information regarding the upcoming AEPCOMM expansion and Continued biosecurity competency (CBC) training requirements for the 2020-21 period.
This year’s CBC activity will be a live webinar. AEPCOMM accredited persons are encouraged to register in advance and participate in the live webinar on Tuesday 4 August 2020 at 10:00am (AEST). For those who cannot attend the live session, a recording will be made available as soon as possible on the department’s CBC activities webpage once the live webinar has concluded.
With the expansion of AEPCOMM, the department has taken the opportunity to update both: class 19.1 NCCC and class 19.2 AEPCOMM requirements and conditions policies. These policies are temporarily available on the Automatic entry processing reform webpage for your convenience. Final versions of these policies will be published on the Requirements for operating approved arrangements webpage when they come into effect on 31 July 2020.
Please be aware that due to these changes the department will issue a notice of intent to vary the class 19.1 NCCC and class 19.2 AEPCOMM approved arrangements under section 413 of the Biosecurity Act 2015. This notice of intent and follow up notice of decision will be sent to the approved arrangement manager.
If you have any questions regarding the variation to the approved arrangements please contact the Broker Administration team.
