Who does this notice affect?
The following information is relevant to Biosecurity Industry Participants (BIPs) and accredited persons operating under Class 19.2 automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM) approved arrangement.
What has changed?
The department is updating AEPCOMM settings for goods subject to Brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) measures. The changes are detailed on the AEP reform web page and are scheduled to take effect on Friday, 29 November 2019.
Accredited persons must ensure that they are utilising their AEPCOMM BICON user account to refer the relevant BICON case(s) when performing AEPCOMM assessments, as a number of in scope pathways and AEPCOMM codes have changed, including:
- boats (tariff 8903) and caravans (tariff 8716) subject to BMSB seasonal measures are now in scope for AEPCOMM
- new AEPCOMM codes have been introduced for goods subject to mandatory BMSB treatment: BMSBMB (methyl bromide), and BMSBHT (heat treatment)
- updated AEPCOMM codes for timber products subject to BMSB measures when requirements for both the BMSB risk and biosecurity risk has been addressed (BMSBREL).
To assist AEPCOMM accredited persons with their lodgements for goods subject to BMSB, the department has also published some guidance material on our AEP reform web page including a new task card with practical examples.
