Who does this notice affect?
Customs Brokers and Self Reporting Importers accredited for the Non Commodity for Containerised Cargo Clearance (NCCC) Scheme and Automatic Entry Processing for Commodities (AEPCOMM) Scheme (Broker Accreditation Schemes).
What is changing?
Important changes to Australia’s Biosecurity come into effect on 16 June 2016 with the commencement of the Biosecurity Act 2015.
Under the Biosecurity Act your current Compliance Agreement approval will become a transitional arrangement on 16 June 2016.
To renew your arrangement under the Biosecurity Act an application for an Approved Arrangement will be sent out by email on 16-17 May 2016. You will need to submit your application for an Approved Arrangement for existing Compliance Agreements before 16 June 2016.
More information regarding the renewal process, including how the implementation of the new Biosecurity Act 2015 will affect your approval and the fit and proper person’s requirements, is available on the department’s website.
No application charge will be applied as part of this process.
When does this notice take effect?
The renewal approval process will commence on 16 June 2016.
