Who does this notice affect?
This notice is of interest to clients in the import and shipping industry, including importers and customs brokers.
What has changed?
Breakbulk Cargos loaded from the US Port of Savannah are now subject to full inspection on arrival.
Due to recent significant interceptions of hitchhiker pests, Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs and Asian Lady Beetles, all breakbulk cargos including vehicles, new and used, loaded from the Port of Savannah discharging at any Australian Port will now be subject to a full biosecurity inspection and treatment when necessary. Fee for service rates will apply for such inspections. This requirement comes into effect immediately.
