Industry Advice Notice No. G2010/13
Changes to the Process of Applying for Non-Genetically Modified Organism (Non-GMO) Certification
This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) informs exporters of changes to the process of applying for certification for the export of commodities to countries that require non-GMO certification.
Previously, all Non-GMO applications were sent to the Canberra office and certification was issued from the regional office nominated on the application form. As of 1 September 2010, all applications for non-GMO certification will need to be completed on the ‘Non-GMO Statement Request Form’ and sent from the exporter directly to the certifying regional office.
Exporters can request the ‘Non-GMO Statement Request Form’ from their local regional AQIS office.
Location and contact details of AQIS regional offices can be found under the plants, grains and horticulture contacts web page.
For any questions relating to the change in process, please contact your local AQIS regional office.
